FAQ - Understanding the auction process is important and helps make attending this Tucson auction a fun and rewarding experience. We at Airrow have addressed some of the most frequently asked questions.

Why should I take my items for sale to an auction rather than having a yard sale?
We understand that it is important to you to sell all of your items, not just the few top items that are easiest to sell. At auctions you sell ALL of your items. Additionally you get fair market value for items. The auction process is stress free, saving you time and money. Our experienced professionals will assist you with the entire process from registration through closing.

Yes. We at Airrow are required to collect sales tax on all purchases.

When I buy something do you charge any additional amount on items over the amount of the bid?
Sale tax is collected. Other than that no other amount is charged. This is an advantage to sellers and buyers doing business with Airrow since the majority of other auctions charge a additional percentage (as much as 10% extra) over the amount of the bid and keep it for the house. You will net more profit and pay less at Airrow.

When I list items for sale online people act like I am in financial trouble and make unreasonable offers. Will this be the same at auction?
Our auctions are positive enthusiastic events designed to generate competitive bidding to secure the highest possible price for your items. Often times we find that the price is not the issue. The primary concern is sufficient interest in the items.

What advice would you give to a first time auction attendee?
We want you to be relaxed and have fun. Don’t be intimidated; you don’t need to be experienced to enjoy an auction. We are ready to welcome and help you.

What must I do to attend an auction?
When you arrive at the auction look for the registration area where you must receive a bidder’s number. Your bidding number must be shown to the auctioneer each time you bid and when you are the winning bidder.

How do I know how much to bid?

It is important to arrive at the auction early enough so you can inspect the items you are interested in. Since many auctions sell items “as is – where is,” it is critical that you examine items for condition, size, color, etc. Based on your examination, establish a value in your mind. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and remember at an auction you can buy an item at a cost of only one bid higher than someone else was willing to pay.

Can I preview the items before the auction?
Yes. Opportunities are provided to preview items for sale.

Do I need to be afraid of bidding on an item I don’t want?

You may have heard a story about a person who scratched his ear and bought an expensive piece of fine art. Do not be frightened by such tales. Auctioneers are professionals and realize when you are bidding and when you are not.

How do I bid?
In order to bid at an auction, you need to make the auctioneer aware of you. To do this, hold up your bidder card or raise your hand. If the auctioneer does not immediately see you, shout “Yes.” The auctioneer will then take your bid and turn to seek another bid. If another bid is received, the auctioneer will return to you to ask if you want to bid again. Simply continue to say “Yes” to stay in the bidding.

What about removal of items from the auction?
When you buy an item at the auction you are responsible for it. It is important that you put the merchandise in a safe area. All items need to be removed the day of the auction. If you need assistance to load large items into your own vehicle, simply ask one of the Airrow personnel.
